How can hypnotherapy help you?

Hypnosis works by updating the subconscious mind with new and more helpful information, like reprogramming a computer.  Hypnotherapy can be used to help you gain control over undesired behaviors or to help you cope better with anxiety or discomfort. Many times symptoms like depression and anxiety are an inner voice attempting to communicate buried emotions or limiting personal beliefs. By uncovering those layers of the subconscious mind we can get down to the root of what is causing the negative actions and behaviors.


So here is a better picture and explanation of the differences between the conscious and subconscious mind:

  • The conscious mind is where we tend to “live” and make all of our analytical choices.

  • The subconscious mind is the memory bank of emotion which ultimately has the ability to change the conscious mind.


The conscious mind is more logical, critical and analytical, constantly making value judgments. The conscious mind consists of what we are aware of at any given point in time. It includes the things that we are thinking about right now, whether it’s in the front of our minds or the back. If we’re aware of it, then it is in the conscious mind.

Your subconscious mind is the storehouse of every memory, conversation, incident, dream, interaction, belief system, emotion, feeling, reaction and behavior you have ever experienced. As your subconscious receives this input from your internal and external world the information is then stored and filed within your subconscious. Once these files have been created and stored, “programs” begin to run based on that input without conscious awareness.  Sometimes these programs work well for you and sometimes they do not.

So why is it so hard to permanently change? Why is it that diets repeatedly fail, or an addiction or habit can be overcome just for it to return with full force at a later time? Self sabotage in professional and personal relationships can also be driven habitually from the subconscious- why do we hold ourselves back?

Discovering the underlying missing pieces of this puzzle is key to unlocking the door to change permanently. Once the deeply rooted drive behind the behavior is understood, the uncontrollable aspect is resolved and released naturally.

Unlike common hypnosis which uses hypnosis script programming to influence behavior patterns, my approach to clinical hypnotherapy addresses the full spectrum of the issue eliminating the risk of transferring to another unwanted habit or behavior.
